Einer der besten Jahrgänge im Montalcino?!

„It is tempting to declare the 2015 Brunello di Montalcino’s best vintage yet and it may well be. However, already a number of winemakers in the region are saying that 2016 is even better. From our tastings of the 2016 Brunellos we can say it is an excellent vintage, however, we think 2015 has more depth, length and structure. It’s more classic in style....we can already say that 2015 is a great vintage. It will rank among the best recent vintages in the region, and will be compared to the likes of 2010, 2007, 2006, 2001, and 1997.“

James Suckling

Ciacci Piccolomini Brunello di Montalcino 2015  - James Suckling: 98/100 Punkte
„Extremely perfumed and decadent with dried flowers and spices and fresh mushrooms. Cherries, too. Full body. Solid core of fruit, yet ever so fine tannins. Goes on for minutes. Such beautifully crafted tannins. Drink after 2021."

Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2015James Suckling: 94/100 Punkte
„There’s beauty and drinkability to this wine that really is enticing with blueberry and cherry aromas, as well as hints of hot stone and licorice. Medium to full body, integrated tannins and a fresh and polished finish. Shows focus and brightness. Very drinkable now, but better in a year or two. Try in 2021."

Giodo Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2015 - James Suckling: 100/100 Punkte
„This is a splendid Brunello, showing extraordinary purity of sangiovese character. Cherry and floral aromas and flavors. Full-bodied with incredibly integrated tannins that seem like they are not there. But they are and are comprehensive on the palate. Great depth and agility. Just floats on the palate. Magic carpet. Drinkable, to enjoy the magic, but needs three or four years to come around."

Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova DOCG 2015 - James Suckling: 99/100 Punkte
„The purity of fruit in this wine really strikes you with black cherries, combined with sage, lavender and rosemary. Extremely aromatic. Full-bodied, yet so tight and polished with incredible tannin structure that gives the wine an endless mouth feel of caressing tannins, acidity and fruit. There’s a fabulous saltiness and oyster-shell undertone to the fruit. Unique. Drinkable already, but this year there’s the structure to last decades."

Ciacci Piccolomini Brunello di Montalcino Pianrosso DOCG 2015James Suckling: 100/100 Punkte
„Lots of ripe and rich fruit with a decadent undertone of meat and spice that turns to pure fruit and licorice. Medium to full body, refined tannins and a fresh and bright finish. All about harmony. Better after 2021."

Castello Banfi Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2015James Suckling: 94/100 Punkte
„So many spices line the nose here including cinnamon, cardamom, aniseed and walnuts. But there’s no shortage of red plums and dried cherries either. Balanced and suave, this is a sophisticated Brunello with a sleek frame of tannins and subtle yet persistent acidity. Drink from 2021.“
