Der Foradori Granato Teroldego Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT präsentiert isch mit einer Nase von reifen, dunklen Kirschen, edlem Holz, etwas Minze und süssen Gewürzen. Ein voller, satter Auftakt mit viel Schmelz und Aromen von roten Beeren, feinen Röstnoten und Würze. Der Foradori Granato Teroldego Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT hat eine komplexe Struktur mit feingeschliffenen Gerbstoffen. Langes Finale mit guter Balance und berauschender Finesse. Perfekt zu rotem, gegrilltem Fleisch.

Monica Larner für Robert Parker: „The 2017 Granato is a pure expression of Teroldego with a sultry, dark color and inky concentration. Summer temperatures in 2017 were warm, but hail damaged 40% of the crop. The fact this wine was even made is a miracle. There is a lot of succulent and tart fruit here that recalls wild cherry and plum, with riper tones of black currant and blackberry that add extra richness and texture. Some stem inclusion is usually employed to make this wine, and its structure is fleshed out as a result. To summarize, this is a full-bodied vintage of Granato with little hints of the tart pomegranate fruit that grows on a tree right outside the winery door.“

James Suckling: „This is really exotic with crushed berry, blueberry, blackberry, violet and sandalwood. It’s full-bodied and very layered with ultra fine tannins that are interspersed with beautiful, ripe fruit. The finish shows cherry, tea, bark and dried flowers. It’s very long and precise at the end. This needs at least four or five years to show what it has, but so beautiful already to taste. Try after 2024.“

Vinous Antonio Galloni: „The 2017 Granato is a dark, rich and powerful wine; but that’s not to say it’s international in style, which is a common misconception regarding this flagship wine from Foradori. Masses of crushed cherry, currant, blueberry, tobacco, exotic spice and black, ashen earth form its captivating bouquet. The density of its textures nearly hides the bristling acidity and mounting tannins beneath, as notes of wild berry, savory herbs and saline-minerality saturate all that they touch. This mixture seems to slowly melt away, leaving hints of violet florals and a tug of tart fruits. The Granato is sourced from the estate’s oldest parcels in Campo Rotaliano, some planted as far back as 1938 as pergola-trained vines. The wine is fermented with up to 40% of its clusters intact, and it ages only in large, neutral oak.“
