Der Il Marroneto Brunello Selezione Madonna Delle Grazie präsentiert sich mit einer Nase nach Zwetschgen und Himbeeren, untermalt von feinen blumigen Noten. Im Geschmack dicht mit einer Komplexität der ganz großen Weine. Üppig, fruchtig, kräftige Tannine mit einem enormem Entwicklungspotential. Der Il Marroneto Brunello Selezione Madonna Delle Grazie wurde mindestens 24 Monate in neuen Fässern aus französischer Alliereiche gelagert bevor er abgefüllt und zum Verkauf freigegeben wurde. Großes Brunello-Kino aus einer kleinen aber sehr feinen Weinschmiede!

Wine Advocate: „From a special vineyard near the chapel that gives the wine its name, Il Marroneto’s 2021 Brunello di Montalcino Madonna delle Grazie is a wine of beautiful complexity and delicacy, distinguished by an elegant savory note reminiscent of cypress trees on a warm summer day. It shows striking focus and intensity yet remains finely balanced, with a sense of richness carried by a refined, seamless texture. The tannins are softly polymerized thanks to a slow fermentation that emphasizes patience and finesse over extraction, carried out spontaneously with no temperature control. It matures in oak botti for 47 months, a regimen that shapes the wine’s depth and balance. Only 9,000 bottles were made.“

Vinous: „The 2021 Brunello di Montalcino Madonna delle Grazie dazzles with a beguiling display of dried strawberries, spiced blood orange, cinnamon, mint and crushed stones. It is harmonious throughout, with textures of pure silk, a subtle inner sweetness and tantalizing acidity that offsets its penetrating core of tart cherry and blackberry. The 2021 leaves a chewy sensation and an array of sweet tannins that pinch at the cheeks as an air of rosy inner florals mixes with hints of Earl Grey and spice. In 2021, Madonna delle Grazie has taken on a whole new identity, relying more on beauty than power.“

Decanter: „This soars out of the glass with heady scents of violet, rose and lilac, eventually joined by flecks of pepper, potting soil and roasted chestnuts, yet the palate is almost stubbornly closed as the tannins clutch assertively to a brooding core of dark cherry. Acidity is just as concentrated as the fruit, and next to the estate’s classic Brunello, the single-vineyard Madonna delle Grazie bottling demonstrates more density and volume, and it will need even longer in the cellar. Next year, Il Marroneto will come out with a 2020 Riserva, only the estate’s second ever (2013 being the first). Based on the performance of these two wines, the decision seems highly justified.“

Jancis Robinson: „Lustrous mid to deep ruby. Gorgeous perfumed red fruit with saline hints rising up from the glass and with top notes of damson and raspberry. Fluid, deep raspberry fruit on the palate layered with firm, chewy tannins that, at this moment, are a tad astringent. Still embryonic and with a tightly wound structure that demands much more time.“

Über das Weingut.

Il Marroneto ist ein Kleinbetrieb wie er im Buche steht. Die Familie Mori bewirtschaftet gerade mal 6 Hektar, die aber in einer sehr guten Zone. Die Brüder Andrea und Alessandro leiten die Produktion, lediglich im Keller hilft ab und zu Önologe Paolo Vagaggini. Die gesamte Jahresproduktion überschreitet kaum mehr als 25000 Flaschen, von denen jede für sich ein kleiner Schatz ist.

Heute nach mehr als 30 Jahren gilt Il Marroneto als eines der zehn angesehensten Unternehmen unter all den berühmten, wichtigen und weit über die Grenzen der Region hinweg bekannten Güter in Montalcino (Siena). Dies war nur möglich durch das langfristige Engagement und die Leidenschaft, mit der die Familie Mori sich ihrer Arbeit jeden Tag widmet. Der Il Marroneto Brunello ist ein ganz klassischer Wein, ausgebaut in großen Fässern aus französischer Alliereiche und slowenischer Eiche. Nach der traditionellen Machart aus Montalcino vinifiziert ist das Ergebnis ein sehr eleganter Wein, reich an Aromen, klassisch. Ein Wein der starke Emotionen weckt, wie die große Liebe und Sorgfalt, mit der er hergestellt wurde.
