Beschreibung: Der San Polo Podernovi Brunello di Montalcino DOCG ist ein traumhafter Brunello aus dem Jahrhundertjahrgang 2015 aus der Einzellage Podernovi. Der San Polo Podernovi Brunello di Montalcino DOCG präsentiert sich mit einem feinen Bouquet von Pflaumen und Himbeeren, Nussaromen und Zimtnoten. Am Gaumen ist der San Polo Podernovi Brunello di Montalcino DOCG samtig und weich mit einer frischen und eleganten Note, geschliffene Tannine, viel Druck und ein langes Finale.

James Suckling: „A dense and layered red with plum, cherry and chocolate character. Full body. Dense and ripe tannins and a long and flavorful finish. Shows layers of fruit and rich tannins. New and exciting wine from here. Try after 2022.“

Mineral-encased ripe red fruits, propelled by vibrant acids with sweet spices and a hint of youthful tannin develop with air. The finish is long and buzzing with zesty acids and spice, along with a coating of fine tannin that tugs at the cheek. There’s a great blending of earth and fruit that makes the Podernovi quite attractive, yet a few years in the cellar should yield an even more balanced wine.“

Über das Weingut.

Das Weingut Poggio San Polo – Montalcino wurde 2007 von Marilisa Allegrini und Leonardo Lo Cascio erworben. Die Familie Allegrini betreibt bereits erfolgreich das Bolgheri-Weingut „Poggio al Tesoro“ in der Toskana. Die Weinberge von Poggio San Polo liegen auf 450 m über dem Meer, auf einer natürlichen Terrasse, mit einem Blick, der über ein idyllisches Tal führt, das sich zwischen den Felsen des Flusses Orcia und dem Monte Amiata zur Abtei von Sant‘Antimo schlängelt. Marilisa Allegrini will im prestigeträchtigen Brunello-Gebiet das Potenzial des Terroir maximieren und nach kompromissloser Qualität streben. Nach Erwerb des Weinguts legte sie nicht sofort mit der Produktion los, sondern testete zunächst detailliert die Bodenbeschaffenheit und Klone. Heute gedeihen in den nach naturnahen Kriterien kultivierten und dicht bestockten Weinberg-Parzellen in großer Höhenlage herausragende Gewächse. Die Hälfte der 17 Hektar umfassenden Rebfläche ist für Brunello registriert.
